Each falling star is believed to grant one wish to the observer

Meteor Showers and wishes for all in August, NASA states that they’re already here, and Perseid fireballs have been falling since July 30, 2013

Meteor showers begin at the end of July and run through August. This year the meteor showers will peak at sunrise on August 12th and 13th 2013, when from 50 to 100 meteors per hour can be observed.

Perseid fireballs are as bright as the planets Jupiter or Venus and can be seen every few hours in early August, on August 11th starting around 11pm, the meteor rate will begin to increase, peaking at sunrise on August 12th and 13th, when 50 to 100 meteors per hour can be observed.

August 10th is also Saint Lawrence day in Italian calendars, date which through the years has served as a reminder of the Swift-Turtle, the mother of all the Perseid rainfall. The Transfiguration celebrated on August 6th, counted by the Church as one of the “Twelve Great Feasts,” also marks the beginning of this fantastic event.
