Italian Wine Masters 2010 - Waldorf Astoria, NY

Italian Wine Masters, a new new collaboration among four distinguished DOCG wine producing regions of Italy: Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Classico, Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore, and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. More than 140 producers and four Master Classes, exclusively developed for the beverage and hospitality industry professionals.

“This is a unique collaboration among four of Italy’s leading D.O.C.G. regions, giving us more leverage to market our wines outside Europe,” stated the leaders of the Consorzi at a press conference to present the Italian Wine Masters program. The United States is the first stop in a multi-year global program. Similar Italian Wine Masters tastings and seminars will be held in Japan in fall 2010 with more activities in other markets planned through 2012.

Italian Wine Masters is a promotional initiative among four of Italy’s leading D.O.C.G. regions, branded as VINO 2010 by the Italian Trade Commission that is also reaching out to consumers by declaring Italian Wine Week starting on January the 28th, through February the 10th. New Yorkers and visitors alike are invited to SHOP & DINE VINO 2010. Explore wines from the regions of Apulia, Calabria, Tuscany, Veneto and all of Italy in select restaurants and wine shops. Restaurants will delight their patrons’ senses through special by-the-glass, wine pairing menus and flight offerings.
